HandbellsMusic (dance and drama) can change the molecules of a room, and so that’s what we do. We change molecules. —David Davidson (paraphrase)As musicians, dancers, and dramatists, we are capable of turning individual notes, movements, and words into amazing creations. The how can happen in many ways—through voice, instrument, dance, or dramatic presentation—each of which may be accomplished by one person, small ensembles, or larger groups. All have one element in common—it may be achieved by the lay persons within our congregation. If we do not think we have anything new to learn, then we will stagnate right where we are.You are invited to join the Ensemble BELLa-motet on Thursday evenings in Gloria Dei’s fireside room at 5:30pm. This group is facilitated by a member of the Handbell Musicians of America and operates as a workshop where everyone contributes creatively. There are only two requirements to becoming a member of this group: (1) ability to count 1-2-3-4-5-6 and (2) knowing the difference between a space and a line. We will help with the rest.If you are interested in Ensemble BELLa-motet, want to know more, or have questions or concerns, you may leave a message with the church office (243-2301) or (rick.bender@gloriadeilutheran.net). |
